Amerie c'est elle :
 Née d’une mère coréenne et d’un père afro-américain, Amerie a souvent déménagé pendant son enfance. Le métier de son père, militaire de carrière, l’a amené à vivre aux Etats-Unis, en Alaska et en Allemagne. Elle apprend la danse dès son plus jeune âge, se passionne rapidement pour la musique et participe à des concours de chant. Sa famille s’installe aux Etats-Unis. Elle part alors pour Washington et étudie les arts à la Georgetown University. Elle rencontre le producteur Rich Harrison. L’alchimie opère immédiatement. En 2002, elle signe All I Have son premier album sous le label Columbia Records. Elle revient dans les bacs en juillet 2005, avec un second opus : Touch.
